On Eko's stick Locke once again sees a bible verse that says to look North which seems to be attributed to the book of John
As Locke is driving Eko's stick into the ground to use as Eko's headstone he sees "Lift up your eyes and look North." John 3:05
John 3:05 may not actually be the verse attribution on Eko's stick but rather just another verse inscribed close by. In the book of John there is no such verse.
It appears instead to be a message to Locke.
John 3:05 - "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
1 John 3:05 - "You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin."
There are verses similar to what is carved on the stick that are not found in the book of John:
Genesis 13:14 "The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west.""
Jeremiah 13:20 "Lift up your eyes and see those who are coming from the north. Where is the flock that was entrusted to you, the sheep of which you boasted?"
Ezekiel 8:5 "Then he said to me, "Son of man, look toward the north." So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol of jealousy."
